The West African Chess Championships, formally called the Zone 4.2 Individual Chess Championships (Open and Women), is being organized by the LCF in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) under the aegis of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). It brings together 12 ECOWAS countries to compete in a sport that promotes intellectual and cultural exchanges.
